AMAZING Morning Everybody!
Here are your 3 golden nuggets for the week!
- “Give this One step your fullest attention. This step is primary. The destination is secondary. The end is not more important than the Now.” – Eckhart Tolle
Many of us are solely focused on the destination, the outcome, the end result. But this is secondary. The process, the grind, each and every step: this is primary. The destination will always take care of itself. Outcomes are inevitable. The only thing we can control is how we handle the process and we do this through maximal effort and a positive attitude. Stop worrying about tomorrow, or next week or next month and focus on right now. How can you get better Now? What steps can you take to reach your goal Now? Take those steps, and the rest will take care of itself.
- “Stop worrying. Chill.” – Unknown
Easier said than done, right? There are 3 ways humans respond to any and all situations: 1) we accept the situation; 2) we try to change the situation; or 3) we avoid the situation. No one response is better than the other. Choose one of the 3 options above, then move on! Worrying commences when we become flustered and indecisive, unsure of which option to pick or generating feelings of regret for the option chosen. Remember, pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional. Choose your response, accept the outcome, then chill.
- “We see people and things not as they are, but as we are.” – Anthony DeMello
We see the world through a filter made up of all of the ideas and beliefs we created during our life’s history. When you observe a conflict that triggers an emotional reaction, you are seeing something in the situation that is reflecting for you an issue in your belief system. The relationships that are most difficult, most trying, most emotionally painful, are the ones that are your greatest teachers. This is not to say that we should tolerate any sort of abuse or disrespect. But rather, instead of blaming “them,” the wiser thing to do is to go inside and investigate what inside of us is reacting to them. What patterns or dynamics are they bringing to the surface for us to see? If we can learn to engage in introspection by pausing and detaching from our immediate reactions, we create the space required to build infinite internal strength!
Enjoy what comes of today!
With Gratitude,
Rob
